01_05 Marriage

Our marriages should give glory to the Lord. In this unit, we examine our understanding of marriage and learn the foundations of a togetherness which is according to God’s design. We will think about the period before marriage, as well as our view of marriage and our heart-attitude. We will see the responsibilities of men and women in marriage and the attitude they are to have to one another, and the ways in which we need to change so that we have a marriage which pleases and glorifies God.

01_05_01 God's Marriage Bill

To begin with, we will think about our own ideas of the concepts of family and marriage, and compare these with what God teaches us in the Bible. We review our aims and expectations in marriage and look at the way God designed marriage so that a couple leaves behind all others to be joined in one body to one another. Our aim should be to have an understanding of marriage which is according to God’s design.

01_05_02 What To Do Before Marriage

We will examine our understanding of marriage. What is my aim in getting married? Why do I want to get married? Do I see marriage as a means to an end? We will mention the recommended preparation for marriage according to God’s will, and we will evaluate the areas we find difficult or in which we make mistakes.

01_05_03 Husband's Love

In this study we look at marriage from the point of view of the husband, and see how this compares with the role God has given the man in marriage and the needs of the woman in marriage (especially the need for love). We see how the fundamental approach of the husband to his spouse can come more into line with the approach God expects from us, and we give examples of this.
