01_11 Judging Others

We can be very quick to judge others, although none of us wants it to happen to ourselves. It can be very easy for us to judge someone else in many areas of their lives. We will notice in this unit though, that Christ’s will for us is the exact opposite of this. As we think about why we are so quick to judge others, we will try to see how we can change our outlook and this aspect of our character.

01_11_01 Trial is a General Attitude

Everyone – great and small – finds it easy to judge others in so many areas of their lives. In this study, we will look for the source of this widespread attitude, and confront the effects this habit has on us.

01_11_02 Self-image

As we judge others, to what extent do we look at ourselves? We will work in this lesson on trying to develop healthy self-criticism and get into the habit of examining ourselves whenever we judge others.

01_11_03 Judgment Is Lord

Of course, if we love our brother, we will criticize him for any sin we see in his life. In the end, though, judgment belongs to the Lord. If we are able to understand this truth, we will learn a lot from God’s character as the righteous judge.

01_11_04 Love Your Neighbor Like Yourself

We work through this study in the light of the verse which says “Love covers over a multitude of sins.” As we turn our eyes in this study to the supremacy of love in our relationships, we will make efforts to root out the spirit of judging.
