01_17 Guilt

One of the areas in which the devil affects us most is that of guilt. When we go beyond a right and proper understanding of our guilt, it can lead us to stop coming to church and to stop spending time with the Lord. We will learn more in this unit about the subject of guilt.

MATERIALS

01_17_01 We Are Guilty Before The LORD

True guilt: We are guilty before the Lord. We will learn in this study what the feelings of inner guilt we experience really mean.

01_17_02 Our Excuse

Our excuses: The feeling of guilt can be a healthy emotion if it leads us to confront ourselves. Just because we do not experience feelings of guilt does not necessarily mean that we have not sinned and offended God.

01_17_03 Confessing To The LORD

Confession: When we sin, we should feel guilt in our hearts before God. This emotion should bring us to only one place, and that is to confess our sins to God.

01_17_04 The Devil Accusing

Satan, the Accuser: Continuing to accuse ourselves because of a sin we have committed, although we know we have been forgiven, can drag us down into mistakes. Instead of turning away from the sin we committed and continuing on our way, we can try to punish ourselves. This is the condemnation Satan wants us to feel.
